About Us

The Michigan Health Association of Training was formed in 1989 as the Mental Health Association of Trainers to:

  • Promote personal and professional growth among members
  • Increase consistency in mental health training and administrative practices
  • Improve training delivered to mental health service providers

We attempt to meet these goals by:

  • Developing and sharing information on rules and regulations from various governmental bodies, new training materials and technology, and “best practices”
  • Promoting and supporting appropriate policies and quality programs
  • Meeting 4 times per year at different, convenient locations
  • Hosting an annual conference for trainers in the public mental health system
  • Encouraging and enabling networking among mental health training professionals
